Summer time - hat is a must for a gentleman. I am putting on my Panama hat and a big Smile for a sunny day like this.
You say tomato and I say :”Rouge tomate food truck on 5th”. Todays lunch is all about the ingrediens of the RT organic green burger. I can think of a bunch of stuff you would just love to hear and see when you are ordering take away from a food truck - but this is so not one of them. The chef:”I wanted fresh tomatoes and look at this…(showing his coworker the thick slice of a rather sad tomato) and continues with..”But that’ll be ok!” Smiling at me while putting a sad not at all great slice of tomato on my burger - adding the rest and saying “there you go”… Dadadaaaa or what ??? There you go try and eat that or there you go hope you did not see the bad tomato??? But no matter what I am so surprised he would serve it and he wasn’t that proud a chef after all since he served a sad looking red tomato from a truck with the name Rouge Tomate….and after I’ve tasted it I truly hope that it’s because he didn’t knew a word of French - because otherwise it’s really bad! Feel sorry for the restaurant with the same name… But then again I can not help wondering do they know and if they do…do they give yesterday’s food to the truck? And if yes ..maybe the chef was just without influence at all …bottom line - not okay and so wrong in so many ways.
This city is so beautiful - seen from the water side it’s just to die for. 👍
The modern at MOMA gets a yay! Such a great place. I so looooved the food - got a wild mushroom soup with toasted chorizo ravioli and it was manifique I must say. The chef made me a special plate with his daughters favorite bread and pickles - yay for great food but then a big V for very good and excellent service. Next time I think I wanna see MOMA and then eat some more :)
Ciao people - Today we went all Italian - latte & lasagna from the piccolo cafe on upper west side … Pretty good. Nice place - lovely people. Taste was ok …it was good but a bit to much tomato in my opinion. But alright for lunch.
